Upper sixth, I have arrived! So college has finally started again. Strangely, I was looking forward to it. Although I did do a lot during the summer holidays, I just was a bit bored throughout most of it. There’s only so many times I can go out with friends. I went into London a lot. I’m not even sure why. I’m due to go there on Wednesday haha. I’ll talk about that trip…soon? Anyway, my classes are good. I just have a lot of work to do, especially in Travel. I would talk about it more, but it makes me feel all “oh crap” every time I think about it in detail.
Newquay was strangely quite fun. I love beaches on a rainy day. It looks so peaceful when there aren’t masses of people around. We went to Newquay Zoo, which was nice. It’s smaller than some of the other zoos I’ve been to, but it has a nice selection of animals. I never knew otters could be so cute. We explored a few caves that I didn’t find very creepy at all. My friends kept screaming their heads off, though.

Now I’m enrolled for Greek! I think I made a mistake in taking these classes though, as I didn’t take into account the time it would take for me to get to the centres…XD I’m going to be out till at least 11pm on a school day. Woo. I’ll see what happens. Maybe my college timetable will be kind to me. : D
My current theme isn’t compatible with Wordpress 2.6, so I’m using this theme ’til there’s some sort of fix.

Yesterday was awesome. I and some of my friends organised a dinner party, where each person prepared one of the courses. I made the main course, which was paella. I was worried that it would go horribly wrong, as I made a little tester on Wednesday and it was pretty horrible. This time I added a few herbs and a few more ingredients, so I could impart a little more flavour into the dish, and just so it was filling. It turned out really great. There was hardly any left, as the family members who weren’t taking part in the dinner had some too. The starters was soup and croutons, which was really nice. We made the croutons ourselves with a little oregano and cheese. Danielle made stuffed peppers which was nice too.
College is nearly over. Yay!

So something I like to do on a regular is make sushi. I last made it on Thursday, so I decided to take a few pictures of how it went and came out as.
First of all, I had to wash the rice. It’s a boring process, but at least my rice is clean when I eat it? XD
Midway through the washing process. The water is so cloudy.
Next, I make the seasoning with 2 parts rice vinegar, one part mirin and a little sugar. I forgot to burn the alcohol out of the mirin so my sushi tasted a bit like beer.
Yeah, we have a lot of bottles. We have two more cupboards full of various sauces. On the right-hand side of the picture, you can see my most favourite sauce in the world, tonkatsu sauce. It’s a bit like Worchestershire sauce, except it’s thick and sweet. It’s mainly used for topping on the dish tonkatsu, which is a breaded Japanese dish. I make that too. ^^
