overture

I really enjoyed the film Persepolis. I watched it a few days ago. If you have no idea what it is, it’s based on a graphic novel about the authors life during the Iranian Revolution. It’s interesting to watch films about subjects you know little about. To try and keep authenticity, I watched it in French with subtitles, but I’m sure there’s a dubbed version at mainstream cinemas at the moment.

Boris Johnson was recently elected mayor of London. I have my reservations. To be honest, I think he’s going to a catastrophic failure. At the moment, he seems to be getting on quite well with the role, but I think it’s all the doing of his publicity team. Further on down the line, he’s going to do something outlandish, like ban all teens from using public transport or something. I wasn’t a fan of Ken Livingstone, but I felt like that he did a good job, especially during the London bombings. I love how everyone just ignores the BNP member in the London Assembly.

I decided that I’m going to take up Japanese and Mandarin sessions in the new academic year, just so I have something more interesting to do in my leisure time, and to strengthen my university application. I thought about doing something like Greek as well (which I might well do), but I haven’t spoken to the teacher in charge of Greek yet, so I haven’t decided. I’m not sure why I want to do Greek; I think it’s because I want to prove to myself that I can learn a completely different language. I’m not amazing at languages, but I find that if I enjoy it and concentrate, I can understand it pretty quick. I haven’t studied German for a year, yet I can still remember most of it. I can remember the basics of French as well, but I didn’t enjoy it that much.

AS FOR ONE DAY

As you may have noticed, my layout has changed, and so has the inner working of this blog.  I loved the old theme, but with all the AJAX and stuff on it, it used to take so long to load, and it wouldn’t even load on some computers. XD Still, change is a good thing. Although, this new theme can be quite hard to navigate. Oh well, form over function. = D

I’ve been going out a lot lately. Last week I went to the Science Museum and then went to have Japanese food. It was fun. The Science Museum is good. I like the Launch Pad. There’s usually so many people there, and they’re all queuing to go to the IMAX Cinema. I love the Space gallery. I used to be obsessed with space when I was a child, and being there brought back some good memories. Then we went to into Central London and I had a tonkatsu bento. I love Japanese food. ^^

Today, I went into London again. We went to see the St Patrick’s Day parade, and went to see some of the stuff they were holding, like the Irish food market at Covent Gardens and Irish Cultural Village at Leicester Square. We were doing to go to Trafalgar Square and go to the concert, but we heard that there were loads of people there, so we didn’t go in the end. After that, we wondered around London and I ended up buying myself a new pair of chopsticks and a bento box.

The holidays have finally come. I’ve been waiting for this day to come. I’m just so tired. The first thing I did when I got back in was take a nap. And what a bloody good nap it was.

I haven’t really got much planned over the holidays. Apart from the obligatory family dinner, I probably won’t do much. Probably will go out with my friends to the cinema, because it’s our local haunt.

Pure Heart

So tomorrow I’m going to a sleep over and helping out with babysitting. On Saturday I’m going to the cinema to see The Golden Compass. Should be a fun weekend.

Not much has happened lately. Most of my days has been pretty much staying in and completing homework and just being generally lazy. I’ve started to play World of Warcraft again. It’s leeching off me like, £8.99 a month but it’s a fun game, if you can take the grind. I also dabbled with City of Heroes as well. It’s quite fun, but you don’t really do a lot, apart from beat the crap out of villains. But my character is hot, and that’s all that matters.

Yes, she has big breasts.

I’m still playing Guild Wars too. Yay to MMORPGs. Cuz you know, they suck the life out of you.
